BuiltVitals is an independent educational publication about the systems that make homes and buildings work. We cover HVAC and cooling, electrical and plumbing systems, energy use, maintenance, repair, tools, and the standards that shape the built environment.
Why we exist
Building information is often scattered between technical manuals, regulations, sales pages, and advice written for people who already know the trade. BuiltVitals connects those pieces in plain English so owners, operators, technicians, students, and curious readers can make better-informed decisions.
How we approach a topic
We begin with the practical question a reader is trying to answer. We then look for primary and technically credible sources, explain the relevant limits, and separate general education from work that requires training, licensing, certification, or specialized equipment.
What we are not
BuiltVitals is not a substitute for an on-site diagnosis, an engineer, a licensed contractor, a code official, or emergency services. Buildings and regulations differ, and technical work can involve electricity, pressure, combustion, chemicals, heights, and other hazards.
Who publishes BuiltVitals
BuiltVitals is developed by a small independent team with experience researching building systems, equipment, materials, and technical products. Author and reviewer information is disclosed on individual articles when applicable.
